HELLO!
My name’s Veronika Gorylova. The town where I live is called Trinec. I’m virgo becouse my date of birth is 18th Seprember.
I am from country in the centre of Europe, from the Czech Republic. For a long time it was a common state with Slovakia - Czechoslovakia but since 1993 there are two countries: the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
Trinec is a smaller town near frontiers with Poland. Trinec is surrounded by the Beskydy Mountains. It is a very beautiful range. If autumn comes trees are full of all colours: orange, yellow, green, brown...It is wonderful. There are favourite inns too, of course. Factory called „Trinec’s ironworks“contaminate this region. A lot of people from Trinec are working there. Trinec has a good ice-hockey club. There are many places we can visit: athletic stadium, library, cafes...
I have got three sisters. The older sisters, Gabriela and Monika, are stepsisters, and they aren’t living with us. I live with my mother, father and sister. Her name is Marie. We live in a flat on the periphery of town. Our flat is in a prefab. In our flat there are three rooms plus kitchen and toilets + bathroom. My sister and I have one room. Our room is smaller. It is terrible sometimes. There is furniture and piano too. On the wall a big puzzle is fixed with motif of Venice. In other rooms (kitchen, bedroom, sitting-room) there is nothing interesting.
I like reading, singing, playing the piano.... I like listening to music. I do athletics: especially long jump and sprints. I like swimming, too. I am interested in horoscopes. I have a lot of favourite places: athletic stadium, my bed…. My most favourite place is there, where my friends are. There I feel best of all. I read many books because I like reading. I like books by American writer Tom Clancy and by Czech artist Jan Werich. I am a big fan of Harry Potter). I love music! My life is impossible without music. I listen to classical music, too. It is very emotional and soothing. From classical music I like Bach and Pachelbel. But I more often listen to modern music. I like rock and rock and roll. My favourite band is Linkin Park and some Czech bands.
My school is in Frydek–Mistek. It is a high school called the High School of Commerce. We are taught a lot of subjects. I don’t like math and biology is very boring. I am interested in history, literature and languages. I don‘t know, what I can tell you about our school. It is a good school with good teachers and I am glad, that I am there. I would like to study at the university. And I don’t know what I am going to do after school. I want to travel all round the world. And I would like people to respect me for my work.
I like travelling but I haven’t been in any exotic countries. I would like to visit France, Scotland and Iceland. France is a historical country and I like history. Scotland and Iceland are magic countries with wonderful nature. I can speak Czech, of course. Because I live in border with Poland, I understand Polish very well. I speak a little Slovak, but I understand very well, too. I want to speak English very well. My English is not very good now, but I hope, I am going to learn it perfectly. Later I am going to learn French.
I would like to meet new people and see new countries: their traditions, specialties. It is going to be interesting to communicate with countries, that I only know from the maps. I would like my English had become better. Maybe this project will help me in this. My personality has a very many bad qualities. I am very lazy. Very, very lazy. But I hope it is not going to influence my work in this project. I like learning new things very much, so this project is creative for me, because there is all new for me. I don’t like tedium and I think this project is not boring.
I don't have any contacts with foreign people, except Polish, Slovak and chance foreigners. A few foreigners travel to our region. I was in Slovakia, Poland and Croatia. In Slovakia there are great beautiful mountains. I like high mountains. I mostly travel around the Czech Republic.
